The Treasure Coast community definitely helped to make the holidays brighter this season for abused, abandoned and neglected children and youth served by Hibiscus Children’s Center.

The Hibiscus “Santa’s Elves” program partnered closely with the generous community to collect and organize toys and gifts to fill hundreds of wish lists for Christmas. The happy recipients were the children living at the Hibiscus shelter in Jensen Beach, the teens living at the Hibiscus Children’s Village in Vero Beach, and children in St. Lucie County served by Hibiscus’ community outreach programs.

There was no doubt that the holiday spirit of giving and generosity was in the air as local businesses, organizations and individuals helped to provide memories and excitement for the children and youth. Many of these children and teens have experienced trauma and difficult challenges, but thanks to the community, volunteers and staff, they were given the gifts of joy, love and smiles on their faces during the Christmas season.

Hibiscus Children’s Center offers thanks to all involved for their generosity, caring spirit and kindness to the children and youth. What a wonderful way to give them special memories that will last a lifetime.
