ST. CLOUD — Jessica and Joe Johnson have been anticipating a Christmas baby, however their daughter determined she needed to attend till 2019.

Autumn Aurora Johnson was born at three:27 a.m. Tuesday, making her the first baby born within the new 12 months on the St. Cloud Hospital Family Birthing Center.

“She was supposed to be a Christmas baby,” Jessica mentioned. “So she was seven days late.”

The Johnsons rang within the new 12 months on the hospital. Autumn was born weighing 9 kilos, eight ounces and 21 inches lengthy.

“We joked about having the first baby of the new year, but didn’t think it would actually happen,” Joe said.

Autumn is the couple’s first child. They live in rural Upsala and expect to take Autumn home tomorrow.

The Johnsons said Autumn was settling in and eating well Tuesday afternoon, but noted that she isn’t a fan of the cold

“You take her blanket off of her and she just doesn’t like it,” Jessica said.

When asked if they had any special resolutions for 2019, the Johnsons just laughed.

“We haven’t even though that far ahead,” Joe said.
